DIPASQUO HAS COACHING BUG: Al DiPasquo, who played with goalie Marty Turco
with the old Soo Legion midgets in the early 1990s before heading off to Ohio State on a Division 1 scholarship, is getting
a taste of coaching this season and says he is "loving every second of it." DiPasquo, who turns 32 next week, began the season
as a second assistant with the Soo North Stars of the Great North Midget Hockey League before joining the Soo Indians in early
January when Kevin Cain took over as head coach of the NOJHL team. DiPasquo, who says he made the move with the "blessing"
of North Stars' head coach Mike Hall, has been working with the Indians' power play unit, among other duties. He says learning
under Hall and the North Stars "really prepared" him for the move up to the NOJHL and also tells me that being with the Indians
"is just great because Kevin really knows the game...and he gives me a lot of responsibility." A high-scoring forward during
his midget days, DiPasquo had a solid three-year career at Ohio State before returning home to work as a financial advisor
with Clarica.
