Who is NOJHL's Most Valuable Player?

I  talk to a lot of people who are connected to the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League. Owners, managers, coaches, trainers, sportswriters, fans et al.

What you are about to read are my findings from a totally unscientific poll. In fact, it’s one of many unofficial polls that I’ve conducted in my own inimitable way. This one deals with who those I talk to feel are the most valuable players within each NOJHL team. What I have done — through feedback asked for and received — is compile the top three MVP candidates from each of the NOJHL’s seven teams.

SOO INDIANS. Forwards Sean Farley and Shane Bailey and defenceman Pete Landem.

SUDBURY KAL TIRE JR. WOLVES. Forwards Brenden Biedermann and J.F. Houle and goalie Darren Rowlandson.

ABITIBI ESKIMOS. Defenceman Michel Champagne and forwards Matt Brunet and Dan Dube.

BLIND RIVER BEAVERS. Forwards Anthony Libonati and Josh Faulkner and defenceman Andre Gauvin.

NORTH BAY SKYHAWKS. Defenceman Brad Norkum and forwards Nick Kulas and Joe Trotter.

SOO THUNDERBIRDS. Forwards Brett Perlini and Jake Reid and defenceman Tyler Lannigan.

MANITOULIN ISLANDERS. Forwards Corey Metatawabin and Justin Hogan and defenceman Tyler Corston-Moore.

Note that Sudbury’s Rowlandson is the only goalie listed. And note the absence of NOJHL scoring leader Scott Restoule.

Feel free to have your say, as usual.
